Regular weekend.

This weekend was just a regular relaxing weekend in Galway. On Friday, me, Jess, Jaye, Jaye's sister Leigh, Fergus, and Mark went to a rugby match. It was good, but rainy. They were playing a team from Wales, and our team, Connaught last in the last 2 minutes. Not great. After the game we went to O'Connel's which is an old man hangout, and the boys had pints while the girls held out for milkshakes at Eddie Rockets (Johnny Rocket's Irish half brother). So we had some milkshakes, and Mark had pretty much everything else on the menu. Good times were had by all.

Saturday absolutely nothing eventful happened, outside of crazy hailstorms and snow and other wintery weather. The hail was so bad Emily and I both woke up at 4:30 AM thinking the hail was about to bust through our window. The weather here wouldn't be SO bad if there wasn't so much wind. I don't know how many people who read this watch Man vs. Wild (you all should), but when Bear is in Patagonia (I think) there is such strong winds that he can throw all his weight into them and be held up. That's what it's like here. At least in my mind that's what it's like here, which is pretty much the same thing.

Sunday, I woke up early to go to church. Walked over to the Super Valu to meet Bridget and got a ride to church. Church was very nice and it was the end of the Sermon on the Mount series. After church Bridget, Nathan and I went to lunch. It was very nice. I had the Irish version of pigs in a blanket, which was like all other Irish food, just a little different but you can't quite put your finger on why. We ended up sitting in Griffin's Cafe on shop street for a really long time chatting. It was a good time. Unfortunately because of the weather we didn't get to play basketball like we hoped, but hopefully we will get a game in before it is time to go home.

So that was pretty much my weekend.

My friends! Fergus, Jess, Me, Jaye, Mark.

Something in the rugby game.

The kicker, pre-deep knee bends.

Big hugs.

They passed it .02 seconds before I took this.

The field.

This is the creepy circus down the street from my house that we really want to go to.

  1. Sunday was a very fun and random day, I think the bakery people were secretly happy that we occupied their bench seats for 2 hours...our conversation and mirror amazement would have totally entertained them!

Agree with your comment about Irish food. Like, so random!
